    How We Met

    We were both students at the University of California, San Diego. At that time, Enrico was the president of San Diego Indonesian Student Association. He organized an event to welcome the freshmen of 2011 and picked up many students to go to the event. One of those students was Irma.

    The First Date

    We went to Los Angeles for a day trip. We had Enrico's favorite dish, ayam penyet, for lunch. Then we stopped by a cafe to sit down and relax while enjoying a fresh shaved ice. Near the evening, we went back to San Diego and did some movie hopping. It was one blissful day.

    Officially Couple

    Enrico asked Irma to be his girlfriend at Conrad Prebys Music Center. He set up a room with 237 roses. In that room, he played What Makes You Beautiful on the piano, followed by a presentation of a short animation video that he made, called The Story of Us. At the end, Irma said yes to becoming Enrico's girlfriend.

    Long Distance Relationship

    After Irma graduated, she went back to Indonesia, while Enrico stayed in the U.S. to continue his education and career. Our relationship became significantly more challenging, but we persistently held onto each other. We used Facetime to see each other everyday and visited each other at least once every six months.

    The Proposal

    Enrico proposed Irma by lighting up 1,000 candles saying "MARRY ME" in front of her house, at 2 AM in the morning when she was sleeping. A bunch of friends came over to help lighting up the candles. Irma was completely unaware, and she was pleasantly surprised to see this. After she came down, Enrico asked the big question, and she said yes.

    Getting Married

    Now, we're ready for the next chapter. We're getting married exactly five years after we became a couple. We can't be more excited, and we can't wait for that day to come. See you on our wedding day!
